Formulated at least as early as 1286 by the Monks of the Order of St. Augustine upon arrival in Grimma (a Free State in Saxony about 25km of Southeast of Leipzig Germany) and handed down through generations in the same family.

was originally blended in medieval times as a ‘Healthful Tonic’. -Today known as a Fine Liqueur; this original flavorful recipe includes a special mixture of rare herbals such as Angelica, Gentian, Ginger Root and Galangal,.along with the exotic spices Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove and Star Anise.  
The slightest chocolaty wisp may be detected due to the addition of the noble Carob bean and the distinctive topnote of citrus flavor is derived from non-other than the famed Curacao Orange. Augustiner Tropfen is all natural and contains no artificial anything!

A coveted family recipe once steeped in secrecy during wartime so as to be kept from the East German regime. In order to ensure the recipe remained secret, this delicious elixir went unproduced for years, making it a rare commodity indeed.
